The Dossier Collection holds many dossiers of the Smash Bros. Tourney participants. Both starter and unlockable characters are present in this game mode. A dossier is a collection of papers or other sources, containing detailed information about a particular person or subject, together with a synopsis of their content. Dossiers of playable characters can be unlocked by completing Classic-Adventure Mode, while those of non-playable characters such as Master Hand can be obtained randomly.

- Many dossiers featuring Tekken participants were previously seen in Tekken: Blood Vengeance. Those characters are Feng Wei, Miguel, Steve Fox, Bruce Irvin, Bob, Asuka Kazama, Eddy Gordo, Christie Monteiro, Julia Chang, Jack-7 (when he was still known as Jack-6), Yoshimitsu, Marshall Law, Paul Phoenix, King, Lili, Wang Jinrei, Craig Marduk, and Zafina.
- The menu for the Dossier Collection strongly resembles the file that Anna Williams opened up near the beginning of Tekken: Blood Vengeance; only this time, the file is opened up by either Aku Aku or Uka Uka from the Crash Bandicoot series, Ambassador Sarek from the Star Trek series, Andrew Hansford from the Sailor Moon anime series, or Professor Oak or Professor Juniper from the Pokemon video game series (it is always random when the Dossier Collection is entered).
- If Aku Aku appears, he will say "Welcome to your collection of dossiers! Take a look around!" and is voiced by Greg Eagles.
- If Uka Uka appears, he will say "This is your dossier collection! There's a lot of dossiers here in the Smash World!" and is voiced by John DiMaggio.
- If Sarek appears, he will say "Welcome to the Smash Bros. dossier collection. What do you wish to see?" and is voiced by Ben Cross.
- If Andrew appears, he will say "Hi, welcome to the Smash Bros. Dossier Library! Feel free to look around." and is voiced by Steven Bednarski.
- If Prof. Juniper appears, she will say "Good day, fellow player. This is your personal Smash Bros. Dossier Collection. Have you got 'em all yet?" and is voiced by Khristine Hvam.
- If Prof. Oak appears, he will say "Hi, welcome to the Smash Bros. Dossier Collection. Must be bigger than the Pokedex!" and is voiced by Jimmy Zoppi.
- The background music that plays in the Dossier Collection is the same music that plays in the Replay Album, the Sticker Album, the Sticker Center, the Chronicle, the Album, and the character viewer, which is The Tourney Begins being played by a piano.
